Eurovelo 15 – in one post
We’re riding from Oberalppass in the Swiss Alps, to Hoek van Holland (and then on to Amsterdam) in the Netherlands.
Along the way we’ll visit Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, France and the Netherlands.

Dear M and N – after reading your journey as far as Andermatt I lost so many nights’ sleeps – there were too many questions. How does one crush a pannier rack? Were the brakes fixed? Did you buy a bungee strap to link the bikes together in case brakes failed? Did you progress together? Was I brave enough to keep reading? What would happen if I kept reading and everything was a disaster? I kept reading, eventually, but in the safety of being under my blankets.
Think less of you for not cycling Andermatt to Oberalppass? Nah, not a bit. Any loss of kudos for not riding that section was replaced many times over with multiple layers of new kudos gained from bravery at riding a laden bike through the switchbacks below Oberalppass with only one and a half brakes.
I’m now out from under the blankets and enjoying the delightful descriptions of your journey, and the beers. A well-placed bike shop – super! A white wine unknown to Neil – incredible! Missing a wine tasting opportunity – also incredible! An inelegant dismount from Joy – yes, definitely ego-bruising! Beers after a hot ride – refreshing!
