Esztergom to Budapest
Eyes on a shiny prize
We wake up today, ready to roll into Budapest. From now until the end of this trip we will be riding along EuroVelo (EV) 6 which follows the Danube River. Our hotel is a little bustling hive of cyclist activity, with several riders preparing to head off, including a couple from the UK who are riding all the way to the Black Sea on a tandem!
We take advantage of the hotel facilities – including a handy pressure cleaner – to clean our filthy bikes so they will be sparkling for the trip to the big city and while they dry we take another walk around Esztergom. We visit the Basilica and take in the views over the Danube, which will be our constant companion for the remainder of the trip. …
